This place is great and Keith was so pleasant and helpful. I stopped by here in September for a little retreat and had a great time. The room was clean and I slept well. Keith was great -showed me the bike route and a great local hike that was simply breathtaking! I would definitely stay here again!!
This lodge surpassed our expectations for cleanliness, convenience and friendly service! Keith was absolutely wonderful and so helpful - he had breakfast ready for us when we were starting our hike and even gave us skewers for our s’mores! We are very excited to return the next time we plan a high peaks adventure!
Nicely renovated rooms. Only a few miles to Whiteface and about 20 minutes to Lake Placid. Ambiance was pleasant. Rooms had cubbies and hooks good for hanging up all the ski gear. Would stay again.
We had the best visit this weekend. Keith made everyone feel like family from the moment we checked in until we said our sorrowful goodbye. He is so cheerful, hilarious, and accommodating all at once. This was our first weekend trip in 3 years with our kiddo in tow. We were nervous it would be too low key for him, but he couldn’t wait to get back to the hotel all day to see his new friends (Keith and two other couples that he instantly latched onto during breakfast and fire pit s’mores time). The room was spotlessly clean, quiet, and the beds and pillows were super comfy. But it’s the atmosphere that Keith creates here that makes this place feel much more than a hotel, and really just like home. We hope to return again soon. Would highly recommend this hidden gem.
Went for a quick trip to scope out the upcoming World Cup track. Place in under some renovations but it's just on the two ends and doesn't interfere with the remolded part. WOW - I go to placid and Wilmington a lot and i don't think I've stayed in a nicer room!! Love the rooms back door and private sitting area, fire pit, and that they include a breakfast each morning. I definitely found my new regular place to stay!!!
We loved our stay at the Spruce Lodge! We were only in town 1 night but both agreed we wished we could have stayed longer. The room was large, immaculately clean and had a great cabin vibe and nice views. The check in was seamless and any questions were quickly answered via text or reception. It is about a 15 minute drive into town, but it was one road there so plenty easy to make it a few times.
Clean, cozy, comfortable. The staff go above and beyond to make sure you are happy and comfortable. Certainly a rustic setting, but only 12 miles from downtown Lake Placid. A great value in a scenic and quiet location

What really set this place apart was the hospitality: warm, welcoming, and genuinely attentive. On top of that, the hotel had the most amazing cabin-like feel—cozy, peaceful, and perfect for relaxing. Free breakfast which is always a plus and delicious. If you’re looking for a clean, spacious place with outstanding service and a charming cabin vibe, this is it. We can’t wait to come back!
